By some definitions, such as that by Greg Costikyan, they are not games since there are no decisions to make which affect the outcome. If cooperation between players is allowed, then the game becomes more complex; many concepts have been developed to analyze such games. While these have had some partial success in the fields of economics, politics and conflict, no good general theory has yet been developed. I may even like the Guardians from the game more than their MCU counterparts. Especially Peter -- I remember really disliking him in all of the promotional material, but he really grew on me.
